Funds from the Students First capitaol campaign that took place mostly under her tenure will be used to created thePatricia A. Sullivan Distinguishee Professorship inthe Sciences. Including anticipated matching grants, the endowment for that professorship shouldbe $1 million, according to a university announcement. That endowment will generate funds to add a nationallu known scholar to the UNCG says Vice Chancellor for University AdvancementfPatricia Stewart.
Sullivan is a biologist by and the faculty member will be in eithe that field orin chemistry, geography or “This is wonderful recognition of Pat Sullivan’se service and dedication to this university” over her nearly 14 yearw as chancellor, Stewart said. “Ir is also a wonderfupl gift tothe university. One of the (Students campaign’s priorities has been the creatiohn of endowed professorships so that our students can learn from thebrightest faculty.” Sullivan was chancello r from 1995 until her retiremeng last summer.
The Students Firstg campaign has raised morethan $111 million for the school, surpassing its $100 million The campaign officially ends this month.
