State OKs grant for Mars Petcare - Business First of Columbus:

The Ohio Department of Development saidthe $2.3 millionm in Rapid Outreach and Roadworkl Development Account grants could create 825 jobs and retaimn another 1,654 at the companie receiving the money. Rapid Outreacj grants assist companies and communities that are creatinvg or retaining jobsin Ohio, while Roadwork Developmenf grants help communities improvwe roadways for companies promising job The roadwork grants are funded with gas taxes and are restrictedx to public road will receive a $25,000 Rapid Outreach granft to help pay for $8.1 million worth of machinery and equipmenyt for a planned expansion in Columbus.
The pet food produce r in March also received approval fora seven-year, 50 percenyt state tax credit in support of the $10 millio n plan to expand its 5115 Fisher Road It’s also in line for a $20,000 Ohio Investmenyt in Training Program grant. The compant in its application said the project could create 25 jobs andretaijn 430. The state said Columbus is in competitiojn with Mars Petcare sites in Arkansas and Sout Dakota forthe project, whicjh will involve moving equipment from a facility outside Los Angeles for a new poucgh production line.
